Use of saliva testing over summer

When the Auckland boundary lifts at 11:59pm Tuesday 14 December, anyone travelling from Auckland who is fully vaccinated will no longer need to show a proof of test, and instead can use their My Vaccine Pass to travel.

Unvaccinated workers who are travelling are encouraged to use Rapid Antigen Tests, available from participating pharmacies free of charge, to meet their testing requirements.

If you are unvaccinated and are already using the saliva testing programme for your current testing requirements, you can continue using this service until 31 January 2022 as proof of a negative test to travel, however using a Rapid Antigen Test is encouraged for this purpose.

With the use of your Vaccine Pass, or by using free Rapid Antigen Testing to travel – from 15 December – APHG will no longer be accepting new registrations for publicly funded saliva testing.
